Did you install the 9.0c that comes with BZ2?

Don't let the 9.0c moniker confuse you - it recieves monthly updates AFAIK, so its always a new version, and it is essential for BZ2 to run correctly, since it includes essential components that DX10 does not.

I did a clean install of Se7en (x64), updated everything, then installed DiRT2, then BZII.  As I recall, each installed or updated it's DirectX during install.

If nothing else works, reinstall BZ and make sure everything finishes Smiley

Not quite the response I was looking for.

We sadly have no experience with the software you are using. We have used the 'ENB series' before, which places the same files in the BZ2 dir, but that is about it (still looking at simulating the same function as that with DX9 hooks in mission DLLs).

The next patch might have support for custom widescreen resolutions now GSH is watching what we're typing (we hope), so wait until PB6 if you don't want to reinstall Tongue

Once BZII is played on a triple screen system it's very hard going back to a single screen.  At present, there are two popular choices for triple display gaming.  SoftTH http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/ which is software based and even though it's free, you pay in the form of a slight frame rate hit and it can be a pain to get it to work.  The Matrox TripleHead2Go http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/ on the other hand is hardware based, no frame rate hits and offers far better gaming support.  My next purchase will be a Matrox TH2GO and I would venture to say most multi monitor gamers are or will be doing the same.

GSH would be wise to take note.  Getting BZII on Matrox's TH2GO game list would be a major bonus in many ways.

I have no idea if it would be in the best interest for BZ2 for this. Maybe on the software level like SoftTH, but I don't know very many people that have 2 monitors for dual-screen, let alone 3.

BZ2 is a 10 year old game. The main focus if fixing current bugs than adding new features. I'm not saying I'm against the idea, but not many of us actually play on such setups as some of us don't have the actual money to do something like this.

lol

I didn't even know Matrox were still making Graphics cards.

The problem with matrox cards is while they have sometimes been quite innovative they've never been all that popular and there isn't really much incentive for developers to support their features.

Looking at that thread, it says

0.125 SoftTH: Adapter 0: nvd3dum.dll, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 with SoftTH v1.09 by Kegetys (D3D9)
   0.125 SoftTH: Adapter 1: nvd3dum.dll, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
   0.125 SoftTH: Adapter 2: nvd3dum.dll, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
   0.140 SoftTH: Added mode 2400x600 f16
   0.140 SoftTH: Added mode 3072x768 f16
   0.140 SoftTH: Added mode 3840x960 f16
   0.140 SoftTH: Added mode 4800x1200 f16

The 'f16' at the end of the line is suspicious to me, because that's a 'float 16' video mode. BZ2 needs the backbuffer to be 24 or 32 bit integer depth video modes, not floats. As far as I can tell quickly, the crash appears to be because DX9 was not set up properly to query the backbuffer.

See if SoftTH has a integer -- not float -- backbuffer mode.

I'm on it.  Should have an answer shortly.  Thanks bro... Peace be with you.

what's an ignoranous ?

surely you mean ignoramus.

if you're going to insult people and accuse them of being ignorant it's best to at least learn to spell you fucking twat, it's better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt .
